Reading a sector
Sales usually dwarf purchases, and that is normal, not a warning. Executives are paid in stock. They sell to diversify and to pay the tax due when awards vest, so a big sell total across a sector mostly reflects a vesting calendar. Purchases are the rarer side, because each one is an insider choosing to add to a company they already know well.
The table ranks companies by how many different insiders filed, not by dollars. That puts the cluster case near the top: several people inside one business acting in the same month. Sector placement comes from each company's SEC SIC code, mapped to the GICS sectors through a standard crosswalk, with manual fixes for well-known names the SIC code gets wrong. A single company can still land in a different sector than an index provider would give it.
